It's that time of year where the girls are nervous no one will ask and the boys are nervous to ask. No one wants to be rejected. When I was asked to prom a long, long, very long time ago - the guy called me on the phone and kinda mumbled - do you wanna go to prom? and I said, okay and that was that.
Things are really different now - Our senior and his friends are under a lot of pressure to come up with creative and exciting ways to ask - so they don't just have to worry about what she might say - he has to set himself up for the ultimate humilation or the greatest relief. But the funny thing is they really go for it - flowers, chocolate covered strawberries, painted t-shirts, big signs even body painting. I guess it's a good thing to make these young men stretch their creative hearts and in the long run they will never forget and neither will she.
